Charlotte 's London Marathon 2024 For MNDA

Charlotte Masters

Story

This year, I will be running the 2024 London Marathon in memory of my mum and joining #TEAMMNDA to raise money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association, a charity that works tirelessly to help individuals and families affected by Motor Neurone disease.
Motor Neurone Disease kills a third of people within a year and more than half within two years of diagnosis and with currently no cure, it is fatal, leaving individuals locked inside a failing body. Mum fought this disease tirelessly over 987 days, showing immense bravery and courage throughout. She was formidable, continuously defying the odds, but lost her battle on January 12th 2022.
I will, therefore, be running in her memory and helping to raise money for the MND Association so they can continue with their life-changing work and prevent other individuals and families from experiencing the pain and suffering caused by this disease. It’s safe to say I’m not a runner, so this challenge is going to be an interesting one, but I am determined to get to the finish line!
There will never be anyone quite like Tracey Masters; she was one of a kind. A beloved wife, mum, LSA and friend. A lively, kind and empathetic person who continually put others before herself and had a positive impact on so many people’s lives.
Her absence is a daily reminder of what this disease has taken from us, and she is missed more than words can say.
So, this is for you, Mum x
